The Bury St Edmunds BMI Hospital opened in 1981. It was purchased by BMI Healthcare in 2008. The hospital is registered for forty beds, two operating theatres and an endoscopy suite. Set in extensive landscaped grounds of over four acres the hospital is situated in St Mary’s Square close to Bury St Edmunds town centre.
A wide range of procedures can be undertaken in most surgical and medical specialities. The hospital has received BUPA recognition for its Bowel and Breast Care Units. Clinical Support includes a High Dependency Unit staffed by experienced nurses trained in specialist care techniques. A Resident Medical Officer, who works under the guidance of the consultant specialists, is onsite 24 hours per day throughout the year.
